Cookie and other tracking tools policy
This page describes how the Website is managed with regard to the use of Cookies and other tracking tools, as well as the related processing of personal data of Users browsing it.
See the Privacy Policy of our Website, to learn about the Data Controller, the purposes, methods and legal bases of the processing, the categories of personal data involved, any categories of recipients of personal data communications, the terms of storage, and the rights of Users as data subjects.
About cookies and other tracking tools
Cookies are small strings of text – which may include personal data (e.g. IP address, user name, e-mail address) and technical information (e.g. language settings, device type) – that websites visited send to the user’s terminal (personal computer or mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone), where they are stored (e.g. in the browser’s memory), and then transmitted back to the same websites on the next visit. Cookies are used to perform functions such as computer authentication, session monitoring and storing information on websites (without the use of cookies some operations would be very complex or impossible to perform), also with regard to the identification of preferences based on the browsing experience. In the course of browsing a Website, the User may also receive on his/her terminal cookies that are managed and sent by different websites or web servers ( “third parties”), on which certain elements (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) on the Website that the user is visiting may reside.
There are also other tracking tools (e.g. “Fingerprinting”, “Pixel Tag”, “Plug-in”), which, although using a different technology, enable similar processing to that carried out by means of cookies and achieve the same results. These tools, unlike cookies, do not store information inside the User’s device and cannot be removed directly by the User via the browser settings; it is therefore necessary for the User to avail of the right to revoke the authorisation to use them via the functions made available on the Website by the Controller in order to review his/her choices.
Classifications of other tracking tools
Generally speaking, it is possible to classify these instruments by:
- Type of instrument
- Cookies (active identifiers)
- Other tracking tools (passive identifiers)
- Provenance
- First party (or Publisher, i.e. the operator of the Website that the User is browsing)
- Third Party (operator of a different Website that installs Cookies via the First Party’s Website)
- Duration
- Session (temporary, they are deleted when the browser is closed or when the logout command is executed)
- Permanent (they remain active until their expiry date or deletion by the User)
- Aims pursued
- Technical purposes (relating to the operation of the Website)
- Non-technical purposes (such as user browsing profile)
Cookies used on our website
TECHNICAL COOKIES
Technical Cookies allow for easy use of the Website and easier retrieval of information, simplifying the connection and transmission of data between the User and the Website.
We use Technical Browsing Cookies on our Website, which are strictly necessary as they ensure the normal browsing and proper functioning of the Website (e.g. authentication for access to restricted areas), allowing you to take advantage of the services offered (e.g. calculation of a quote). Without the use of such cookies some services of the Website may not be accessible, may not be displayed correctly or may function sub-optimally. Functionality, preference and location cookies may also be used to change the behaviour and appearance of the Website (e.g. preferred language, size of texts or fonts, geographical area where the User is located), the absence of which does not affect the browsing of the Website, but makes it less efficient and functional.
Session and persistent cookies belong to the category of Technical Cookies.
The installation of Technical Cookies does not require the prior consent of the User. We also inform you that you can block Cookies at any time through your browser settings; however, if you set your device to refuse these Cookies, some services of the Website may not be displayed correctly or may function sub-optimally, in particular, operations to identify the User and maintain their identification within the session may be more complex to perform and less secure in the absence of Technical Cookies.
COOKIES WITH NON-TECHNICAL FUNCTION
These are tools used to trace specific, recurring behaviour or activities in the use of the Website’s functions back to specific individuals, in order to associate the different profiles to homogeneous groupings, with a view to optimising and personalising the services offered and/or sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the User when browsing. This also includes all further cookies and other tracking identifiers that do not fall within the scope of the technical function.
These are persistent cookies, as they remain active until their expiry date or deletion by the User.
We also inform you that these Cookies are owned and also operated by Third Parties: their use is only possible with your prior consent; your preference is tracked by a specific Technical Cookie. In this grouping on our Website we mainly use:
PROFILING AND MARKETING COOKIES
We use our own and third-party owned and operated Remarketing tools that allow our partners to use cookies on our Website in order to provide you on other websites with targeted marketing communications about our goods and services in line with your web browsing preferences and relating to sponsored ads in search engines and e-mails.
SOCIAL NETWORKS COOKIES
These are Cookies managed by Social Networks as Third Parties, following the use by our Website of the “Social Plug-ins” integrated into the Website. These tools allow to share the content of the Website you are browsing with other Users; they are cookies typically used to enable functions such as “Like” that are typical of social networks.
These cookies also enable Social Networks to identify Users and collect information from them even while they are browsing other websites; they may also be used by Social Networks for additional purposes such as behavioural advertising, analytics or market research. Exclusively the privacy policies of social networks apply to such processing. You should therefore consider the above before giving your consent for the use of Third Party Cookies in order not to allow the transmission of your personal data to Social Networks.
ANALYTICS COOKIES
We use ANALYTICS COOKIES – i.e., those cookies that are installed, among other uses, for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of a service, measuring the traffic (determining the number of visitors, possibly broken down by geographic area or by other characteristics) of the Website or of its most visited areas (for statistical purposes), improving its content or facilitating its use by the User, carrying out analyses to facilitate the User’s use of the Website, also with a view to user experience. Further purposes pursued by analytical cookies include the aggregation of User behaviours (referring to actions such as mouse clicks, page scrolls and other interactions) on the pages of our Website related to the browsing sessions and browser used, in order to promptly identify any usability or technical problems, within the scope of improving the quality of the service offered.
These cookies, considering that their use does not lead to the direct identification of the data subject (since the information collected by these cookies is used in aggregate and therefore anonymously), are comparable to the type of technical cookies and therefore do not require prior consent.
We also inform you that these cookies are both our own and managed by third parties and that they are persistent cookies, as they remain active until they expire or are deleted by the User. Please note that you can select only the Cookies and other tracking tools whose use you wish to consent to, by using the Customise your choices option: you can change your preferences at any time by using the Review your choices option; however, you can always block such Cookies through your browser settings.
TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA TO COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION
Some of the Third Parties that provide services through the use of cookies on our Website, which have been authorised in advance, or other third parties involved by these Third Parties in the provision of such services, may receive and process your personal data in Third Countries (countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area).
If applicable, by reason of the purpose of the processing pursued, the transfer of personal data to third countries will take place in accordance with the applicable legislation in force, and in the presence of appropriate safeguards (e.g., inter alia, because of an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission, or after the conclusion of “Standard Contractual Clauses” between the data importer and exporter). Please also note that personal data collected through the use of cookies will not be disclosed]
LEGAL BASIS OF DATA PROCESSING
The legal basis for the processing of data collected by our Website through the use of cookies with a non-technical function is exclusively the consent of the data subject. In the case of cookies with a technical function, the legal basis can be found in the legitimate interest of the company.
RECIPIENTS OF COMMUNICATIONS
